The wolf spider hunts at night. Their webbing is used for shelter during the day. The females carry their egg masses below their abdomen until the eggs hatch. The spider lings will cling to the mother’s abdomen for a short time after hatching. They feed on a variety of insects and other small organisms. They will enter homes through gaps under doors. They do not pose any danger to people or pets.

  • Brown and black coloration
  • May have longitudinal stripes
  • At night, eyes reflect light from a flashlight, headlamp, or car headlight
  • Large and often seen under lights
